Inside Buckingham Palace

'Inside Buckingham Palace' reveals what really happens behind the grand exterior of one of the most famous buildings in the world. The Palace is unique, a world of its own.  Under its huge roof it combines being a family home, an office and workplace for the Royal Household and a stage for the grandest state occasions.

Episode 1 looks back over the sixty years since the Queen’s Coronation, during which the Royal residents and their huge household have faced conflicts and tragedies, romances and scandals.

The Palace itself has been the centre of mourning for Diana and celebration of the Queen’s Jubilees. But the building has not stood the test of time. It needs £150m spent on it. What might the future hold for Buckingham Palace?

It has only been a royal palace for less than 200 years and just over a hundred years ago it was a rundown building almost abandoned by the Royals. Episode 2 tells the story of how it became one of the most famous buildings in the world.

The Series has been sold around the world, notably by Smithsonian in the US and ZDF in Germany.
